900 Series OCLV Carbon Light Enough to Climb, Fast Enough to Sprint
The Trek Madone SLR Gen 8 Frameset is built on Trek's highest-grade 900 Series OCLV Carbon, a construction that prioritises stiffness where power transfer demands it and compliance where long-ride comfort requires it. The result is a frameset that sits at the top of Trek's road lineup and serves as the race platform for Lidl-Trek's sprinters and climbers on the world stage.
The Gen 8 is Trek's lightest Madone Disc frameset to date, achieving a weight comparable to the Émonda frameset while retaining the aerodynamic profile that defines the Madone line. This combination of minimal weight and aero efficiency addresses the traditional trade-off that has long divided climbing bikes from time-trial-oriented machines; the Madone SLR Gen 8 does not ask you to choose between the two.
New road bike sizing has been introduced with this generation, covering a wider range of riders while reducing the overlap between sizes that can make frame selection unnecessarily complicated. Finding the right fit is more straightforward than in previous generations.
- Madone SLR Gen 8 Frameset gives you the best of every world – superbike aerodynamics, featherweight construction for soaring up world-stage climbs, and IsoFlow comfort that keeps you feeling great in the saddle all day
- It's crafted with our highest-level 900 Series OCLV carbon that's mind-bogglingly light, stiff where you need the power, and compliant where you crave comfort

Full System Foil Aerodynamics and RSL Aero Bottle Compatibility
The Madone SLR Gen 8 introduces Full System Foil aero tube shaping a redesigned set of tube profiles developed to improve airflow across the entire bike rather than optimising individual tubes in isolation. The shaping was tested to deliver speed benefits across the complete rider system, treating the bike and rider as one aerodynamic unit rather than separate elements.
Complementing this, the frameset is designed to accept RSL Aero Bottles and Cages add-on accessories engineered to match the Full System Foil aero shapes and integrate seamlessly into the overall aerodynamic profile. These bottles and cages are sold separately and are designed specifically for this generation of Madone to maintain airflow consistency across the frame and cockpit. For riders prioritising every marginal gain, this integration ensures hydration does not become an aerodynamic compromise.

IsoFlow Comfort Technology 80% More Vertical Compliance
Long race days and sustained high-output efforts place significant demands on the rider's body, and the Madone SLR Gen 8 addresses this directly through its refined IsoFlow comfort technology. Compared to the previous generation, IsoFlow has been developed to be lighter and to deliver approximately 80% more vertical compliance meaning the frame absorbs more road vibration and surface chatter without redirecting that energy into the rider's hands, arms, and back.
Critically, this increase in compliance was achieved without compromising the aerodynamic profile of the frame. IsoFlow operates within the Full System Foil tube shapes rather than requiring additional surface area or structural elements that would create drag. The practical benefit is a rider who arrives at the later stages of a long ride or race in better condition able to sustain power output when it matters most.
This is a frameset intended for custom builds. Trek notes that a seatpost is not included, and the open component specification allows riders to select their preferred groupset, wheels, cockpit, and seatpost. RSL Aero Bottles and Cages are available separately for riders who wish to complete the aerodynamic system.

Designed for the world’s best
Madone SLR Gen 8 is raced and loved by Lidl-Trek's fastest sprinters and climbers and the only bike they need for race day.

Add-on aero bottles to make your whole bike faster
Add-on RSL Aero Bottles and Cages were designed with Madone Full System Foil aero shapes to make the whole rider system even faster.

New road bike sizing
We updated out sizing system to fit an even wider range of riders while consolidating the number of sizes and reducing overlap to make it easier to find the right size for you.

FAQs
Is a seatpost included with the Madone SLR Gen 8 Frameset?
No. The seatpost is not included with this frameset. You will need to source a compatible seatpost separately as part of your build.
What carbon fibre grade is used in the Madone SLR Gen 8?
The frameset is built using Trek's 900 Series OCLV Carbon, which is Trek's highest-level carbon construction. It is designed to be light and stiff for power transfer while providing compliance where comfort is needed.
What is IsoFlow technology and what does it do?
IsoFlow is Trek's frame comfort technology integrated into the Madone's structure. In Gen 8, it has been refined to be lighter and deliver approximately 80% more vertical compliance compared to the previous generation, helping to reduce road vibration fatigue on long rides without affecting aerodynamics.
What are RSL Aero Bottles and Cages and are they included?
RSL Aero Bottles and Cages are add-on accessories designed specifically to complement the Full System Foil aero tube shapes of the Madone Gen 8. They are not included with the frameset and are sold separately. They are designed to integrate with the frame's aerodynamic profile.
What is Full System Foil aero tube shaping?
Full System Foil refers to the new aero tube profiles on the Madone SLR Gen 8 that were developed and tested to improve airflow across the complete bike and rider system. The shaping treats the entire setup as one aerodynamic unit rather than optimising individual tubes in isolation.
Who is this frameset designed for?
The Madone SLR Gen 8 Frameset is Trek's top-tier road race frameset, used by Lidl-Trek professional riders for sprinting and climbing. It is intended for riders who want to build a custom high-performance road bike to their own component specification.
Has the sizing changed from previous Madone generations?
Yes. Trek updated the sizing system for Gen 8 to fit a wider range of riders while reducing the number of sizes and minimising overlap between them, making it easier to identify the correct frame size.
