Pay With Flex FAQs

Trek Bikes Florida has partnered with Flex to allow you to use your Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA). This means you can now use your HSA or FSA debit card to purchase eligible bikes with pre-tax dollars, which may result in net savings of approximately 30–40%, depending on your tax bracket.

To use your HSA or FSA debit card, simply add products to your cart as usual. At checkout, select “Flex | Pay with HSA/FSA” as your payment option, enter your HSA or FSA debit card information, and complete your purchase as normal. If you do not see “Flex | Pay with HSA/FSA” as an option, you may be checking out through Shop Pay. In that case, select “Checkout as Guest” to view additional payment options.

The key is to make sure you are logged out of Shop Pay. One of the easiest ways to do this is to go through checkout in an incognito window or simply select “Check out as guest” in the footer of the checkout page.

If you do not have your HSA or FSA card available, you can still select “Flex | Pay with HSA/FSA” as your payment method. Simply enter your credit card information, and Flex will email you an itemized receipt that you can submit for reimbursement.

Sales tax for eligible items can also be covered by HSA/FSA funds. If the customer has a split cart, the tax will be divided between the payment methods based on the items purchased.

No problem. At checkout, simply choose to split your payment in the Flex platform. Enter the amount you would like to charge to your HSA/FSA card, and the remaining balance will be charged to the credit or debit card you provide.

Some products require documentation from a licensed healthcare provider confirming that the item is necessary to treat or manage a specific medical condition. If a product requires a Letter of Medical Necessity (LOMN), Flex offers a chat-based consultation that can generate the letter in real time.

To qualify to use your HSA or FSA card for approved products, the IRS requires a Letter of Medical Necessity. Trek Bikes Florida has partnered with Flex to offer asynchronous telehealth visits as part of the checkout process. Within 24 hours of your purchase, Flex will email you an itemized receipt.

You should keep it on file for at least three years in case of an IRS audit of your HSA or FSA account. In some cases, FSA administrators may also request the letter to confirm the eligibility of your purchase.

We strongly recommend checking with your HSA or FSA provider before completing your purchase to confirm whether the item is eligible. However, if you believe your claim was denied in error, please send us the response you received from your HSA or FSA provider. We can then share it with Flex and request guidance on the best next steps. Please note that employer-sponsored FSA plans may determine product eligibility differently, beyond standard IRS guidelines, so it is very important to confirm eligibility before making a purchase.
