A Corral for Your Kids on the Deck of Your Surly Cargo Bike

The Surly Kid Corral is a safety rail system designed for kids riding on the deck of a Surly Big Easy, Big Dummy or Big Fat Dummy. It gives young passengers a defined, protected place to ride on the cargo deck, with a kit that includes everything needed to set it up. It is finished in black.

The kit includes the full safety rail system, two soft Deck Pads, a Deck Bar comfortable enough for small hands, and the required mounting hardware. The Kid Corral attaches to the sides of the deck and carries a matte black finish with rubber grips.

Compatibility: The Kid Corral is designed for the Surly Big Easy, Big Dummy and Big Fat Dummy. Confirm your bike is one of these models before purchase. It is also compatible with the Thule Yepp Maxi child seat, which suits riders of smaller proportions.

Semi-Modular Rails That Grow With Your Family

The Kid Corral is a semi-modular system, so you can easily add or remove sections of the corral rails to fit your passenger's safety needs. As your family grows in size or number, you can adjust the configuration to give your passengers more or less freedom, for example with one side open and one side closed or with the rails fully closed.

Soft Deck Pads and a Deck Bar for Small Hands

Two soft Deck Pads give passengers a comfortable surface to sit on, and the Deck Bar gives them something secure to hold while riding. Together with the safety rails they turn the cargo deck into a purpose-built seat area for kids.

Safety note: Always follow Surly's installation and use instructions. Stay within your bike's combined rider and cargo weight limit, which Surly lists as 400 lb (181 kg) for the Big Dummy. Children should wear helmets, and a competent adult rider should always be in control. Contact us if you need help with fitment or setup.
