A Bluetooth Speaker and Digital Bike Bell Combined in One Handlebar Mount

The Trek BellBeats is a handlebar-mounted accessory that combines two functions that every cyclist benefits from - a way to alert others on shared paths and a way to listen to music, podcasts, or navigation audio while riding. Rather than mounting a separate bell and a separate speaker to the handlebars, BellBeats integrates both into a single compact unit that mounts cleanly to the bar without cluttering the cockpit.

The speaker is optimised by Harman - an audio engineering company known for its work across consumer and professional audio products - providing clear, quality audio output for music, podcasts, and navigation prompts from a connected smartphone. Bluetooth connectivity pairs the unit to the rider's phone for streaming, and the six-hour music playtime covers most ride durations without requiring a recharge mid-ride. A digital four-bar LED battery gauge is visible on the unit, allowing the rider to check remaining battery status without consulting a separate app or device.

Ergonomic controls are easily accessible on the unit, allowing the rider to operate both the bell and speaker functions without removing hands from the bars or taking eyes off the path ahead.

Eight Pre-Loaded Alert Tones Engineered for Shared Path Use

The digital bell component of BellBeats includes eight pre-loaded alert tones ranging from friendly to urgent - covering the full range of situations on shared paths and cycle routes where a bell is used to alert pedestrians, other cyclists, or animals ahead. Alert tones are engineered to be easily located by others - designed to help people identify where the sound is coming from quickly for a less surprising, more pleasant interaction. Trek describes the design goal as less surprise and more smile - reflecting the intention that the tones are heard and located easily without startling the recipient.

Having a range of tones from friendly to urgent gives the rider appropriate options for different situations - a gentle, pleasant tone for an unhurried path where a casual alert is appropriate, and a more direct tone when the situation requires immediate awareness from someone ahead.

Handlebar Mount, Accessible Controls, and Bluetooth Streaming

BellBeats mounts to the handlebar for consistent, secure positioning and easy access to both the bell and speaker controls during riding. The ergonomic control layout allows operation without requiring the rider to look down at the unit or search for the right button, keeping attention on the path.

Bluetooth connectivity streams audio from a paired smartphone, covering music, podcast, and audio navigation use cases. The six hours of music playtime provides sufficient runtime for most day rides and longer training sessions. The LED battery gauge removes uncertainty about remaining charge with a clear visual indicator directly on the unit.
