Bought this bike for fitness and to get into organized road rides. It is the most comfortable ride I've ever had pleasure to own. It's light and fast. Did a very quick 30 miles last night and could have easily done a whole century. All I can say is WOW.

I am a weekend warrior who got this bike in May of 2010. I rode this bike 4 times as many miles as I had ridden my previous steel bike. I love this bike, and am glad that I purchased it. It's now at the shop for a tuneup so that I can hit the streets again. It's 50 degrees here in Chicago. That's riding weather to us! About the bike, she's great on climbs. She's great with acceleration. Brakes work well. Just so you know, the bike came with a compact crank and Sram Rival components. I upgraded my whole groupo to Sram Force and a 53/39 crank. If you would like upgrades, then I definitely recommend purchasing the bike at the Trek Bike Store. [...]

After riding an mtb for the last 10 years I decide it was time to get back on the road. I rode an 80s era Popular aluminum crit bike for many years. However being 45 years old and having a heriated L5 disc I could not stand the HARSH ride any longer. After several trips to my LBS and multiple test rides I decided the Madone 4.7 was the best all around bike for my comfort and budget. I took my first ride today, 32 miles, and I am amazed with the rigidity and comfort. The saddle is a little hard but I will stick it out for now to see if it gets better. My new love is silky smooth and all my pedaling inputs went directly to forward motion with no flex or squeaks. The brakes are fantastic and the shifting is almost telepathic. She is very stable going down hill in full tuck. I backed off at 35 mph not because of the bike but because I haven't been at that speed on a bike in 20 years. I can't wait till tomorrow to take her out again. I'm not a racer but you could easily race this bike and be competitive. Thank you Joey at Dannys cycles for your help and patience.

I also went from Cannondale Synapse to this bike. After reading the reviews, I told the shop owner I wanted to swap the stock seat for my fizik. He suggested I try the stock since I wear very high quality bib shorts. The stock seat was fine.

i changed from a 2200 alpha sl to this 4.7 and all i can say is wow. i have had this bikes leaned over farther, gone faster and covered 1100 miles in 3 months with this bike. it is wonderful. my only issue is the seat and getting my hands and butt use to all the riding time. my mt bike and trials bike miss me due to all the road riding i do. :)
